The `34 Coupe design is based on the first of the hi-tech street rods that were built in the late `70's. Some of these cars were built with the original 34 Ford frame and body while others were built with brand new hand crafted parts. Typically, the tops were chopped with the windshield raked, the bodies stretched and repositioned on the frames with lowered grilles and hoods to give a tapered look. Suspensions were mostly independent, with A arms in the front and quick change centers and stub axles in the rear. It was also the beginning of the billet wheel area with bigs and littles helping to create that "just right" stance, of course, to really look right they were colored red. | |
